Ruby Tuesday - My Japanese Maple

I've had a little Japanese Maple tree for a few years. It's about 5'6" at the highest point - was about 1 ft when Mom gave it to me. It's a lovely little tree, as Japanese Maples always are, but it usually looks pretty sad by this time of the year. My apartment gets the late afternoon sun and it's stuck out there. I've tried to shield it by sticking other plants around and in front of it, but it's pretty much a loosing battle.

Happily, I noticed some new growth on it this weekend. That's when I took these. The pretty red leaves, I thought they'd be a good choice for Ruby Tuesday.

I don't know if I know this plant. Looks nice with the red leaves.

Japanese maples are really beautiful additions to a basically green landscape. They look like they are celebrating autumn all year long.

I love the way you have brought the red to the forefront of these photos. Nice touch.

we had a dogwood that we tried to save but it was just too old and too much had happened to its roots. I still miss that tree.

at least your beauty is showing signs of color - and a wonderful fall color

the shape of the leaves is so pretty.

This photo is great. We have one of these trees in our back yard, but other trees still keep it in their shadows. Too bad, as the maple looks wonderful.

Beautiful shots. I love Japanese Maples. We had one in my parent's yard when I grew up and it was probably my favorite tree. Besides being pretty, these shots brought back some nice memories. Thanks.

Beautiful growth on your Japanese Maple! Great post for Ruby Tuesday! I had to have my Japanese Maple trimmed last week. I hope they didn't kill it... :)
