Max Is Sick & I'm Sick of Facebook

My boy, Max, is sick. He had a low-ish fever this weekend. I am determined to get him well or well-er today. I'm hitting him with the breathing treatments, the percussion, I'm planning to kick that illness's butt, if it had a butt, of course.

Do you have a Facebook account?  I do and it was fun for awhile. I enjoyed catching up with old friends, seeing how they turned out, hearing about their interests and their families. Lately, however, it's not as much fun. I get tired of reading about politics (about how wrong mine apparently are)  and about how this or that group is over-stepping their bounds in one way or another. More pictures, more little league updates, and movie quotes please. Less anti-Obama, anti-immigrant, anti-whatever. Or maybe I am the only who has a problem with the negativity. Maybe I'm in the minority. I keep hiding people - pretty soon my feed will consist of 5 ladies, my crush, and my daughter's friends.

Okay, back to kicking that illness's butt. I think I'll hit it with a little Vitamin C.

Embarrassing fact, I don't even have a facebook account. I know, I know, I'm so behind the times. To be honest, I've never had the desire to get one! Thanks for confirming my lax attitude towards getting one!

I do know what you mean, I must admit I tend to ignore (haven't done the hiding) those posts. I love when they update their lives or post stories from their town. ie, when Gayla got to give those computers to the two kids in her hometown. I also like that I can read all about my other family members and what they are up to these days. I play the games too but lately I haven't been visiting there much but once, sometimes twice a day. Once to play games, twice is to read all updates.

Sorry Max is sick, hopefully that vitamin C works.

Guess what? My muse struck so I may and may not be on a lot. I think I'm going to try writing my idea down on paper instead of the computer and see how far I can go with it.

Lila, Facebook can be fun, but it gives people a whole new platform for preaching.

Homemom3, I do not know how you are able to keep up when you don't hide - you have a TON of FB friends. I have decided to hide the people who enjoy the political stuff. It makes them happy and they have every right to talk about it, but I also have the right to NOT read it. I'm at FB for fun and getting pissed because someone is bashing my beliefs is not my idea of fun.

I'm excited that your muse is inspiring you. Let me know what you are working on, when you get the chance.

Max seems a bit better today. Yay!

easy...I have everyone in different folders. ie, family (including you, B and S) my family, high school, PR stuff, co-workers, bloggers, online friends. I don't go through every single thing. I look through my list of each one and that's it. I don't do all of them on one day that's for sure. I figure if they really need ME they'll contact me.

You are so smart! I should try that.

Facebook can totally wear you out. All the "in your face" arguing and stuff. It's ridiculous. No one can just talk about things, they have to be so black and white about it all. I hate that. No one tries to see other sides of an issue.

I can't blame you for wanting to stay off of it. I try and do that too sometimes although I do use it for business a lot.
