Wanna Join My Group?
I'm watching The Bachelorette with my sister, Robin. We watch and text. Some of the boys on the show are charming and cute, while others are rather odd and awkward. I worry that they don't really screen them well. One is bordering on stalker tonight. Is it an act? Has he never dated a girl before? Doesn't he recognize the look of discomfort on her face?
I would never ever be on a reality show. I'm a big doof. People would sit at home and critique my awkwardness, while at home my kids would die of embarrassment, the kids at school never letting them hear the end of how dorky their mom is. Tonight Sarah asked if I'd like to go on the show. I said, "Oh, no. I would never want to be away from you kids." She said, "Oh well he'd probably send you home right away." Ha! Funny kid.
I started a Facebook group for my photography business. If you'd like to check it out, it's here.

Max Is Sick & I'm Sick of Facebook
My boy, Max, is sick. He had a low-ish fever this weekend. I am determined to get him well or well-er today. I'm hitting him with the breathing treatments, the percussion, I'm planning to kick that illness's butt, if it had a butt, of course.
Do you have a Facebook account? I do and it was fun for awhile. I enjoyed catching up with old friends, seeing how they turned out, hearing about their interests and their families. Lately, however, it's not as much fun. I get tired of reading about politics (about how wrong mine apparently are) and about how this or that group is over-stepping their bounds in one way or another. More pictures, more little league updates, and movie quotes please. Less anti-Obama, anti-immigrant, anti-whatever. Or maybe I am the only who has a problem with the negativity. Maybe I'm in the minority. I keep hiding people - pretty soon my feed will consist of 5 ladies, my crush, and my daughter's friends.
Okay, back to kicking that illness's butt. I think I'll hit it with a little Vitamin C.

Thinking About Joaquin Phoenix
Some of the boys on Facebook have been putting up movie quotes.
I rarely recognize them, but for some reason I've been thinking of Joaquin Phoenix as Merrill in Signs saying, "Felt wrong not to swing." I loved him in that movie. The whole thing with the nerds explanation and the aluminum foil cap. He was so charming. Then, I remembered when he was in that movie Inventing the Abbotts, the movie where he drew the side burns on with a permanent marker and he falls in love with Liv Tyler. Did you see that one? I loved that movie. Last weekend I saw him in Ladder 49. Sad ending. I hated the ending.
When I was first married, my husband Todd and I watched the movie Parenthood. Remember him (when he was Leaf) in that movie? All that hair and anger? When I was pregnant, just a few months after seeing him in Parenthood, I saw a rerun of Space Camp. He was "Max" in that one. That's where I got Max's name, from a movie that most people haven't even heard of.
Earlier this year, Joaquin Phoenix was acting pretty odd. I sure hope that guy is okay.
Okay, enough stalling.......tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I'm not prepared. Ooops.
